Beijing No.80 High School was founded in 1956. It is the top school in Beijing, and is entitled Municipal Model High School. The school currently has more than 3000 junior high and senior high school students, including over 400 foreign students.

E.L.I.Holdings, together with its subsidiary company-UK Thames Education invited the Principal of Beijing No. 80 High School, Mme Tian to visit the UK at the end of May. Following a highly successful meeting, Beijing No.80 High School and Notting Hill and Ealing High School have set up a new partnership arrangement to promote opportunities for the pupils from both China and UK.

Notting Hill and Ealing High School is an independent day school for girls aged 4 - 18 located in Ealing, London. Founded in 1873, the school has always been a leader in education for girls enjoying a reputation for academic excellence at both the junior and senior levels.

According to the new partnership, from 2016-17, the two schools will set up a formal exchange programme which will allow Year 11 pupils in both schools to spend 2/3 weeks in the other country, attending school, spending time with host families and gaining a much deeper understanding of local culture. The opportunity to spend a significant amount of time immersed in another country is an excellent opportunity for language learners and we hope this will prove very beneficial the students’ Mandarin and English studies as well as a fun and enjoyable challenge.

E.L.I.Holdings’ co-chairman Alice Childs also set up a meeting between Mme Tian and the principal of Buckswood School in East Sussex. They had a deep discussion of the educational system and teaching techniques in both countries.

E.L.I.Holdings played a key role in ensuring the successful signing of the agreement. The partnership strengthened the existing relationship between the two schools.
